Showing Appreciation "Round the Table"
When going through day to day functions, it is easy to forget the hard work other employees have contributed when we are focused on completing our own tasks. As a result of this, we fail to give appreciation for other employees that have made our jobs easier. The content of today's article will talk about a few ways in which your Human Resources department can better show their appreciation for all your company's workers, while staying under a budget.1). Better flexibility
When given a flexible work schedule, employees will be able to appreciate the time they need away from work to focus on family and other personal issues. In his words, Martin, President of Alcera Consulting Incorporation states: " Give a little latitude in determining work schedules and to take time away for family and personal issues such as doctor's appointments and banking errands as long as the employee is deserving and doesn't abuse the privilege."
2). Reward effort and success
While employee ideas will be both successful and unsuccessful in the management of functions, they are essential to the company and its future. As the president of Summit Consulting Group, Alan Weiss states: "When I consulted with the CEO of Calgan, we created an annual award for the best idea that did not work, and presented a loving cup at the annual awards dinner." By using this reward, his company was able to stimulate innovation and positive behavior among employees, while keeping them interested.
3). Offer a trade
Allow employees to pick their own projects or trade tasks with other colleagues.
4). Create a place of Meditation
Create a place of relaxation for your employees to take a nap, relax, and unwind from the pressures of the working environment.
5).Write a note
Supervisors can ask professionals to write hand written notes to all employees who should receive recognition for their work. For example, Advanced MD CEO Jim Pack and his colleagues have wrote hand written thank you notes to all of his employees on $2 bills. Although the employees are not able to use the $2 bill, they understand that they are appreciated and valued within the workplace.
Despite our day to day functions, we must be able to acknowledge all of our employees and their contribution to a successful workplace. If managers and CEO's fail to recognize their employees, a company will fail to run smoothly.
